Ohio Township Day is celebrated on February 1st each year. The day was established in 1998 by House Bill 652 and the first celebration was in 1999. The day recognizes township officials and employees, and promotes grassroots government. Township officials are also encouraged to visit schools to explain their duties and qualifications.
